Another very good cleanser that specifically tackles ultra-oily skin. Skin Doctors Oil Control Cleanser is yet another brilliant PMT cleanser. This one is designed to specifically target excess oil production and helps to keep breakouts under control. There’s no feeling of dryness or tightness after rinsing. If you’re just a little spotty but don’t want to resort to the ranges aimed at teen skin. This is for grown-up spot-fighting.

This is a lovely face wash – I’ve had it on my shelf for the last month or so and have been using it with two others from Neals Yard – usually for my morning cleanse, as I do like to save the more luxurious routine with a thick cleansing balm and a hot cloth for the late at night. It helps me to relax and forget about the day’s problems. The morning cleanse is different – it has to have something a bit more splashy with impact about it so that I don’t fall back to sleep, and it has to be relatively quick and easy.

If there’s any excuse to faff in the morning, I’ll take it; if I started a full-on cleanse with a balm and a cloth after breakfast then I’ve no doubt that I’d still be doing my ablutions at lunchtime.

I like to go for these types of cleansers in the mornings and they tend to have a light gel texture and a fresh feel but they are never stripping or harsh. Even if you have very oily skin, you don’t want to be drying it out with your cleanser – tight, stripped skin is uncomfortable at that time of the day.

It might feel better than oily skin, if you don’t want to have oily skin, but it’s just skin that’s sad and vulnerable because it’s been deprived of all of its natural oils. The secret is to find cleansers that work well but are gentle – good at breaking down dirt and makeup and sunscreens and other debris, but also good at leaving the skin comfortable and with its natural defenses still working.

That’s why I love Skin Doctors Oil Control Cleanser so much – it’s amazingly good at getting off all of the day’s grime and makeup, but not leaving your face feeling as though it has been stretched over a frame. But, to get back to the original point, which is that I have neither the time or the patience for a balm cleanse in the morning; morning cleanses are mostly about face washes, and Skin Doctors Oil Control Cleanser the face wash gets my approval. It’s great for quick and gentle cleansing, especially if you have oily or combination skin and if you have very dry or sensitive skin might prefer a creamier formula.

With active ingredients of Acnacidol and Evermat, the antibacterial properties help to control sebum production and excess shine.

Whilst working to remove dirt and make up, this cleanser purifies pores creating a healthier complexion. Highly recommended!
