Hi – I’m Jane!

I’m a 25 year old beauty blogger from Madrid now living in London.  I’ve trained in Spain as a beauty therapist and professional make-up artist.  My love for my chosen career has now spilled over to the mysterious art of beauty blogging. I have this nickname Calamity Jane after an unfortunate incident with a five litre drum of white paint.  But generally I’m cautious and careful, especially when it come to what I put on my skin in terms of beauty products. 

I moved from Madrid to London four years ago and love my new life here. There is a big Spanish community in London so my friends tend to be, well, from Spain!

When I arrived here it was not easy to break into the business.  So I started this blog as a fun kind of hobby which has now grown and helped me make some great contacts here.

My blog is a personal blog written and edited by me.

The world of online beauty is as big, if not bigger, than the world of retail.  At least on line one can go into detail about products that you would never be able to do just shopping in retail stores.

I hope the advice and stories will help you find interesting new products and decide if they are right for you.  I am a naturally suspicious person and have always taken the sales pitches of shop assistants with, as they say in UK, a pinch of salt.  Afterall, we must not forget that they usually work on high commissions and basically want to sell the stuff.

When I’m not searching for new ideas and thinking what to review you’ll find me clubbing (great scene in London), drinking with friends in the lovely old pubs here, or running round Hyde Park trying to keep slim, firm and fit, picnicking on Hampstead Heath, or wandering around Harrods, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols on the lookout for the new and unusual.
